Cherry Brooks was arrested around 3:45 p.m. in Colorado County, Texas, in 2018. She is currently facing first-degree murder accusations.
Brooks was found guilty of murdering Goodwin with a shotgun 20 years after the occurrence.
Initially, the entire murder case was perplexing, and no one suspected Brooks was the true perpetrator. There were simply whispers about Goodwin having an affair with another woman’s partner.

TV Show Cold Justice Had Identified Cherry Brooks As The Suspect
Cold Justice, a television drama, named Cherry Brooks as Joannie Goodwin’s killer.
The Cop show provided cash assistance to the detective in solving the crime. For more than 5 to 6 weeks, volumes of witness interviews were conducted. In addition, evidentiary samples were processed in a fully accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City. This eventually produced a consequence.
The detectives said that Brooks had been a suspect in their case for years. They found Goodwin had been shot on a night out with pals. However, they did not have sufficient evidence to arrest until the television show Cold Justice.
When Joannie was killed she had a 7-month-old son named Bobby Neighbors. It was soon discovered that Goodwin was friends with a man who was considered Miller-Terry’s boyfriend.

According to the current inquiry, Goodwin was with Cherry at a convenience shop in Pawhuska. She was shot twice with a 12-gauge shotgun chambered in double-aught buckshot.
Meanwhile, Cherry went ahead and reported Goodwin missing to the police that morning, hoping to get them off her back. She further planned everything to conceal her wrongdoing.
Cherry Brooks’ Jail Sentence
Cherry Brooks was transferred to the Colorado County, Texas, jail, which is approximately 70 miles west of Houston.
She was extradited to Osage County on an outstanding murder accusation and jailed instead of a $1 million bail.
The District Attorney, Mike Fisher, has dismissed the charge without prejudice, which implies that it might be pursued again at some point.
