A 69-year-old Colorado man has been arrested and charged with raping three young children.

Terry Lee Simerly is being held on a $75,000 bond, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust with a pattern of abuse.

Colorado Springs Police said they received a report on December 17 that Simerly had raped a 7-year-old boy. When child advocates spoke with the child, he told them Simerly had raped him repeatedly, beginning when he was 2-years-old.

Two girls, an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old, also reported they were raped by Simerly. One said the abuse started when she was 4-year-old and living with him. She said that Simerly told her he would kill her if she ever told anyone.

Simerly, who was arrested last Thursday, is due in court again on January 7. Court records show that he remained behind bars Tuesday night.
