Press release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Combined Communications Center (CCC) has implemented a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to handle non-emergency inquiries and calls for service. The new system will allow the CCC to provide faster and more efficient service to our community while ensuring that emergency calls are answered promptly.

The IVR system automatically uses advanced technology to route non-emergency calls to the appropriate department or agency. This means that when a caller dials the non-emergency number 352-955-1818, callers are greeted by an automated voice that will guide callers through a series of prompts to help get the assistance needed.

This new system will improve our ability to serve our community and provide timely and effective assistance. We encourage you to use our non-emergency number for all non-emergency inquiries, such as record requests, the status of an existing case, fingerprinting services, warrants, and jail information, as well as non-urgent law enforcement calls for services such as noise complaints, vehicle tow inquiries, and minor thefts.

There is no change to the 9-1-1 emergency services. When someone dials 9-1-1, a call-taker will answer immediately.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work to improve our emergency response capabilities. If you have any questions or concerns about the new IVR system, please do not hesitate to contact us.
