A 20-year-old Nevada man is behind bars for nearly decapitating his mother and stabbing one of her friends — later telling cops “Holy f—, it looks like I murdered them” — after the mom was found dead and the pal was discovered in a driveway, barely clinging to life with knife wounds to her neck and cheek, according to court documents.
Carson Gonzales, the young man who authorities say is responsible, allegedly attacked his mother, Carla Gonzales, 52, and her friend, Angela Clay, 46, on Saturday while the two of them were at a two-story home in northwest Reno, according to court documents obtained by local NBC and Fox affiliates KRNV and KRXI.
Police say Carson Gonzales, who was ordered to be held without bail Thursday on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon and battery with the use of a deadly weapon, set upon the pair after getting into arguments with his mom.
He allegedly attacked Carla Gonzales first before turning his attention toward Clay after she attempted to get between them to break up a verbal fight they were having.
Officers responded to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. that night after receiving multiple 911 calls about a family argument that was unfolding inside the residence, where Carla Gonzales — an art and photography teacher at a local high school — was living with a roommate, KRNV and KRXI report.
As police approached the Reno home, they were allegedly met by Carson Gonzales, with court documents reportedly describing how he exited the garage of the home dressed in nothing but a tank top and socks, while allegedly covered in blood.
His mom was found dead inside, with sharp force injuries to her neck.
Authorities took Carson Gonzales down to a local police station, where they interviewed him about what occurred and allowed him to speak with a half brother over the phone, who apparently tried getting the young man to realize what allegedly unfolded.
“I don’t think you understand what you did tonight,” Carson Gonzales’ brother told him, according to court documents, which describe how the suspect had his phone on “speaker” during the call, ultimately allowing the cops to hear what he was allegedly saying.
“No I do understand,” Carson Gonzales allegedly replied. “It’s f—ing horrible.”
Investigators reported hearing Carson Gonzales mutter at times during his interview, while also making “unintelligible” remarks about the case and random things, including statements about the president of the United States.
“Trump killed my queen,” Carson Gonzales allegedly said, according to KRNV and KRXI.
“Let me talk to Trump,” he also told cops, per the court documents.
“Trump is scaring me and stuff,” the young man reportedly added.
Describing the alleged murder and how it happened, police say Carson Gonzales claimed he was defending himself. “They were attacking me,” he said, according to the court documents.
He allegedly made similar remarks when officers first made contact with him outside the home.
“I don’t know what the f— I’m doing,” he allegedly said.

At one point, the young man claimed during his interview that he could “bring her back,” in reference to his mom, according to police.
“She’s not dead … is she?” Carson Gonzales allegedly asked detectives, who tried and failed to get him to provide specifics about the slaying.
“I don’t really want to talk about it,” he also said, according to the court documents.
“They were attacking me … and I defended myself,” he allegedly insisted.
When Carson Gonzales was speaking to his half brother while at the police station, the sibling allegedly told him that he should’ve just diffused the situation and walked away.
“Yep that’s exactly what I should’ve done,” Carson Gonzales said, according to the court documents. “I can’t believe what I just did. It is f—ed up … it is so f—ed up.”
