The Carroll County prosecutor in the infamous Delphi murders case was successful in getting sensitive records tied to the case sealed, crime scene and autopsy photos.

Prosecutor Nick McLeland filed a motion requesting the court to restrict access to crime scene images, autopsy materials, and mental health or medical records used during the trial.

On December 30, 2024, Judge Fran Gull ordered the sealing of all crime scene and autopsy photos, along with medical and mental health records, declaring them confidential, NewsNation reports.

The sealed documents contained autopsy photos of Abby Williams and Libby German. They also included mental health and medical records related to  Richard Allen.

As CrineOnline previously reported, the bodies of the  teen girls were found near the Monon High Bridge in February 2017, in Delphi

Five years later, police arrested Allen, a Delphi resident who worked at a local pharmacy.

After 17 days of testimony, a jury found him guilty of murder. He received a 130-year prison sentence.

In the  motion, the state highlighted that some crime scene photos had already entered the public domain due to a “negligent release” by Allen’s lawyers.

The prosecutor stated that the release of the photos caused “irreparable harm” to the victims’ families.
