The University of Arkansas police reportedly plan to investigate the calls.

Initial Coverage

An active shooter has been reported at the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville.

According to KNWA, a text alert from the school was sent out at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, advising people to stay away from the David W. Mullins Library area.

The Fayetteville Police Department said police are working to clear the building, while student Brock Boddie told the outlet that he heard screams while he was on the library’s third floor.

“RazALERT Emergency Notification: Avoid the area of Mullins Library due to an active shooter reported. Avoid. Deny. Defend,” the school posted on X.

So far, it’s unclear whether anyone has been shot or injured.
