Chad Ollinger, a former star of Discovery Channel’s “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” now faces charges of open murder.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that on Friday, authorities came across a man in the Clark County Detention Center who was “lying motionless inside a cell.”
“Officers made entry and observed the inmate was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries,” stated a press release from the Las Vegas police.
Investigations revealed that Ollinger, aged 41, had been involved in a confrontation with his cellmate. Tragically, the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
News Channel 10 reports that police in Texas apprehended Ollinger in November 2024 in Amarillo after he ran a red light and attempted to evade arrest.
“All I know is this one thing,” Ollinger previously told TMZ. “It was a hell of a ride until I got off of that Harley crossbone.”
After posting bond, police near Pampa, Texas, arrested Ollinger for driving 10% or more over the limit, and driving with an invalid license while having previous convictions.
Then, in October, police arrested Ollinger on a contempt of court charge.
A Potter County grand jury indicted him in January. A judge sentenced on the contempt charge in December, with a scheduled release for January 2026.
Meanwhile, People magazine reports that Ollinger’s father, Duane Ollinger, owns the Blind Frog Ranch in Utah.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
