Deputies in California were seen with the father of missing 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro on Sunday, walking into a remote area in Moreno Valley.

According to ABC 7, the child’s father, Jake Haro, was seen wearing an orange jumpsuit, accompanied by cadaver dogs and San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies near “dry brush off the 60 Freeway,” close to Gilman Springs Road.

The sheriff’s office said the search ended without locating the child.

“The search has concluded, and Emmanuel was not located. The investigation to find Emmanuel continues.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police arrested the parents, Rebecca and Jake Haro, Friday on suspicion of murder, following an investigation at their home in Cabazon.

The arrests came after both parents allegedly made inconsistent statements to police before retaining an attorney.

Rebecca Haro claimed she woke up to find Emmanuel missing after someone reportedly knocked her unconscious on August 14, giving her a black eye.

She said she went to a Big 5 Sporting Goods in Yucaipa, because her older son needed a mouth guard.

She told police she took Emmanuel with her, while her two other children and husband stayed at the local park, where their son had football practice.

While in the store parking lot changing the baby’s diaper, an unknown person approached her and said, “Hola,” before knocking her out, according to what she told police.

“Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with the interview,” the sheriff’s office said.

Meanwhile, KTLA reports that detective are investigating a possible video showing Rebecca Haro with the black eye as early as August 3, and a claim that Emmanuel was not seen at the park with the family on the day in question.

The couple’s 2-year-old child has been removed from their custody, and the child’s grandmother said that police brought cadaver dogs to the family’s home.
