Michael McKee, a surgeon from Illinois, faces serious charges for the alleged murder of his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her husband, Spencer Tepe. He has entered a plea of not guilty to these accusations.
The 39-year-old made his appearance remotely from jail during an arraignment held in Franklin County, Ohio, on Friday afternoon. McKee responded with a not guilty plea to a series of felony charges.
McKee is charged with four counts of aggravated murder and an additional count of aggravated burglary, reportedly involving a firearm suppressor. His defense lawyer, Diane Menashe, represented him, choosing to waive a bond request, according to a report from ABC 16.
Currently detained at the James A. Karnes Corrections Center, McKee is accused of using an automatic firearm or silencer to fatally shoot the couple in their Columbus residence on December 30, as previously detailed by CrimeOnline.
Throughout the short hearing, McKee remained silent and showed no visible emotion.
According to a police report, police found Monique Tepe with a gunshot wound to the head and found Spencer Tepe with numerous gunshot wounds, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Their two young children were left physically unharmed inside the residence.
Police arrested McKee in Rockford, Illinois, on January 10, after reportedly matching his vehicle to the crime scene. Investigators later found multiple weapons inside his Rockford apartment.
