The tragic story of a missing Indiana teen has reached a heartbreaking conclusion, as authorities announced the discovery of her body in Ohio on Sunday. The case has taken a grim turn with the arrest of a suspect believed to be connected to this devastating loss.
Hailey Buzbee, a 17-year-old from Fishers, Indiana, vanished last month, leaving her family and community in anguish. The search ended when Tyler Thomas, through his attorney, provided information leading the FBI to Buzbee’s remains located in Perry County, Ohio. Reports from the Indianapolis Star suggest that Thomas is facing potential charges of homicide or murder in relation to Buzbee’s death.
According to the Columbus, Ohio police, Buzbee was believed to have been killed at a short-term rental property in Hocking County. This grim discovery has intensified the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Currently, Tyler Thomas, aged 39, is in custody on charges of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and tampering with evidence. These charges are linked to illicit images allegedly featuring Buzbee, which authorities claim Thomas attempted to erase from his phone.
The case unfolded when Buzbee was reported missing from her home in Fishers on January 5. Her parents stated she had left overnight, and it was later revealed she had departed with Thomas. Although Thomas admitted to picking her up, he insists he dropped her off by the roadside in Ohio, a claim now overshadowed by the grim developments.
Bubzee’s cause of death was not disclosed.
Thomas appeared in court on Monday. His bond was set at $1.5 million.
