In a significant development, FBI agents uncovered a black glove on Wednesday during a search near the Arizona residence of Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old who has been missing since the end of January. This discovery was made along a roadside close to her home in the Catalina Foothills, sparking new interest in the ongoing investigation.
The glove, found nestled in shrubbery about a mile and a half from Guthrie’s house, bears a striking resemblance to one worn by an armed intruder captured on security footage. This footage, along with photographs, had been released by the FBI just the day before, according to the New York Post.
The comprehensive search was conducted along several roadways in the Catalina Foothills area, an effort described as “extensive” by law enforcement officials. The FBI’s continued presence in the neighborhood underscores the seriousness of the case, as previously reported by CrimeOnline.
Nancy Guthrie was last observed on January 31 following a family dinner. Concerned by her absence at church, her family reported her missing around noon the following day. Nancy is notably the mother of Savannah Guthrie, a host on the “Today” show, adding a layer of public interest to the case.

Investigators later found blood on her front porch, confirmed to be Nancy’s. Officials said that around 1:47 a.m. on February 1, Nancy’s doorbell camera had been disconnected. At 2 a.m., Nancy’s pacemaker pinged her phone.
At around 2:12 a.m., security camera software detected movement, Nanos said, although he could not confirm where the movement came from.

“I think the guy is probably between 5 feet, 11, and 6 foot, 2,” cybersecurity and digital forensics expert, Lee Neubecker, told Nancy Grace. “But you can also see his shoes as he steps on those bricks…and also the first step it holds.”
“If you knew the exact size of that brick, you could probably tell what his shoe size is.”
The FBI is currently offering a $50,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone associated with Nancy Guthrie’s abduction.
