Police say they’ve found a bicycle belonging to a missing Florida teenager, prompting an “intensive search” of the nearby Weedon Island Preserve area.

Allister Nasr, 17, was reported missing on March 1, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert nearly a week later, WTSP reports.

Nasr is describe as 5 feet 9 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a gray sweatshirt, and white shoes.

He was reportedly carrying a black backpack when he left his home at 10 a.m. on March 1 but is believed to have dropped that pack off at a nearby school campus and switched to a red one.

St. Petersburg Police said the white beach cruiser bicycle was found at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, police said, in the area of 94th Avenue North and San Martin Blvd NE. The search in the preserve area continued on Thursday after no signs of the boy were found on Wednesday, WTVT said.

“It’s important that we find Allister as soon as possible,” the police department wrote in a statement. “He’s considered an endangered, missing person because evidence collected after his disappearance raised concerns about his personal safety.”

Anyone with more information should call FDLE at 1-888-356-4774 or the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780.
