The grandmother and 3 children were killed. Two adults and two other children were critically injured.

A 25-year-old Florida man was driving 99 mph on a city street when he slammed into a car driven by a grandmother who was taking several family members to a movie for a 10-year-old’s birthday celebration.

The grandmother, 51-year-old Rosa Jones, and three children were killed in the broad daylight crash. Two children and two adults were seriously injured.

WTVJ said that surveillance video showed a Kia Sorrento driven by  Antonio Wilcox Jr. rear-ending the Nissan Altima driven by Jones. Her car then struck a Cadillac Escalade.

Family members identified the three children who were killed as siblings Kamari Graham, 10; Azariah McCall, 8; and Ireanna Johnson, 10. It was Kamari’s birthday.

The children’s fourth sibling, 13-year-old Ka’Myra Graham, was left severely injured and brain dead, according to the kids’ aunt.

The children’s mother, Donika Johnson, and her partner, Ariel Johnson, were in critical condition, along with the fifth child, family friend Cyrus Rankin, 7.

Rankin’s mother, Destiny Rosa, said she had been tracking her son’s phone and “knew something was wrong” when it stopped moving.

“Mr. Wilcox was driving at approximately 99 mph, accelerating at the point of impact, the accelerator was all the way down,” Miami Gardens Police Executive Officer Emmanuel Jeanty said Tuesday.

“Mr. Wilcox made a conscious decision to get into that vehicle and drive in a reckless manner with no regard to human life,” Jeanty said. “In my law enforcement career this has been the worst accident that I have witnessed and as a matter of fact, our traffic homicide detective had even stated the same, in their many years of investigating these types of crashes, the detective even stated this was the worst accident that he had to investigate.”

Police said alcohol was involved.

Wilcox has been booked into the Broward jail on four counts of vehicular homicide in a reckless manner.
