On Monday, a tragic shooting unfolded at a Florida business, claiming the lives of two brothers who owned the establishment. The incident is linked to a man involved in a significant fraud case connected to the business.
The victims, Charles Geragi, aged 67, and Richard Geragi, aged 72, were found dead at their All-American Farms in Boynton Beach around 4 p.m., according to a report by WPTV.
The alleged shooter, Nesar Dawla, 39, reportedly took his own life following a brief pursuit by law enforcement officers after the incident.
Authorities quickly identified Dawla as the suspect and tracked down his car, as detailed by CrimeOnline. When officers attempted to stop him, Dawla fled, leading to a crash.
WPTV reported that police witnessed Dawla shooting himself while still behind the wheel during the pursuit.
The Geragis had arranged to meet with Dawla Monday afternoon to discuss the return of money defrauded by Dawla’s brother, Sadman Dawla, who was convicted of defrauding the Geragis of more than $5 million in 2024. At the meeting, Nesar Dawla produced a firearm and shot the Geragis.
Investigators believe that Nesar Dawla was involved in the fraud, but they didn’t find evidence to support charges at the time.
According to WPEC, Sadman Dawla is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.
