In a shocking incident in Texas, a woman reportedly stabbed her boyfriend during an altercation over his refusal to hand over his phone, according to local authorities.
Identified as Terriana Johnson, she now faces charges of aggravated assault, as confirmed by jail records accessed by Law & Crime. Johnson was taken into custody and booked into the McLennan County Jail on Thursday.
The events unfolded on Wednesday at a residence located on the 1900 block of South 5th Street in Waco, where Johnson and her boyfriend, who have been in a relationship for approximately a year, were present. The confrontation began when Johnson allegedly entered the bathroom while her boyfriend was showering, shouting at him, as per an arrest affidavit cited by the regional CBS affiliate, KWTX-TV.
Upon leaving the shower, the boyfriend allegedly encountered Johnson emerging from the kitchen armed with three knives. She purportedly threatened him, declaring, “I’m going to cut you if you don’t give me your f— phone.”
In an attempt to defend himself, the boyfriend reportedly used bed sheets as a shield, but despite his efforts, Johnson managed to inflict a cut with one of the knives. He subsequently fled to a neighbor’s house, prompting an officer to be dispatched to the scene of the incident.
The officer arrived and spoke to Johnson, who reportedly said her boyfriend had taken her phone and pushed her to the ground. Police said she had no visible injuries.
The boyfriend — after being contacted by the officer — said his girlfriend had stabbed him with a knife.
When the boyfriend spoke with law enforcement in person, he had a cut on his left arm, police said. When officers asked Johnson about the injury, she allegedly said she did not know what happened.
Johnson said she had scissors in her hand during their fight, and when an officer asked her why, she said they were “to cut the sheets,” KWTX reported.
After being arrested and booked into jail, Johnson was placed under a $10,000 bond, jail records show.
