A Florida woman stabbed her parents, then thinking they were both dead, fled the scene to go shopping.

However, her father still had a pulse, and her mother would manage to survive the attack.

A judge sentenced Christina Anne Adams, 33, to two life terms on Wednesday for the 2022 stabbing death of her father and the attempted murder of her mother, according to the Ocala StarBanner.

The Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office said in an April 17 release that jurors needed convicted Adams of first-degree premeditated murder and attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

Prosecutors said Adams stabbed her parents, 74-year-old Richard Langer and Sally Langer, on September 16, 2022, in their Ocala home after learning she had to move out.

Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after Richard Langer called 911 and reported he had been stabbed, identifying his daughter as the attacker.

Police found Richard and Sally Langer with multiple stab wounds inside the home, according to the State Attorney’s Office. While receiving medical aid, Richard again told police that Adams had attacked them. He later died from his injuries.

Police located Adams shortly after the stabbing, driving near the scene with her wife, officials said. They detained and interviewed both women.

Adams’ spouse told investigators she had finished running errands and met Adams at a grocery store, according to the State Attorney’s Office. She said Adams did not mention any altercation and showed no unusual behavior.

Adams initially denied involvement, but her account conflicted with her wife’s. Officials said she later confessed.

“[Adams] later told detectives that she was angry over being asked to leave the home that she shared with the victims,” the MCSO said. “Adams stated she retrieved a large knife and then attacked both victims, stabbing them multiple times.”

According to the Miami Herald, Adams said she didn’t know what to do with her parents’ bodies, adding that she had “an undiagnosed mental health disorder” and was an abuse victim.

Langer, a veteran and pilot, was the father of nine and remembered by family in his obituary as “an all-around amazing human being.”
