GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eldrick Lydell Taylor, 43, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with burglary with battery and property damage after allegedly breaking a window with a bucket and then trying to drag a woman out the window by her ankle.

An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the victim’s home at about 2:30 a.m. on December 2 and reportedly found a broken window. The victim told the deputy that Taylor had thrown an empty bucket at the window, breaking it, and had grabbed her ankle and tried to drag her out of the window. She said she had previously dated Taylor. Taylor was arrested early Sunday morning.

Taylor has 11 felony convictions (one violent, one sexual offense) and 16 misdemeanor convictions (two violent). He has served one state prison sentence and was released in 2008. Judge George Wright set bail at $300,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
