GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kenyatta Bryant, 32, who was already in the Alachua County Jail for allegedly using a stolen credit card to purchase multiple e-bikes, was charged yesterday with the sexual battery of a 5-year-old child.
On January 22, a few days after Bryant was arrested, a family member of the child reported the alleged sexual battery to Gainesville Police Department. The child was forensically interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center and reportedly said Bryant did “nasty stuff,” including forcing the victim to perform oral sex. The child said a family member was in the living room when the alleged sexual battery took place in a bedroom.
Bryant has three felony convictions (none violent) and five misdemeanor convictions (none violent) and has served two state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2016. He is on probation for driving without a valid license and has also been charged with violating probation. Judge Bo Bayer added $1 million bail to his previous bail of $40,000.
