GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Early this morning, 32-year-old Jarvis James Wright was taken into custody, facing charges related to issuing written threats of death.

On January 14, a deputy from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office reviewed text messages on the victim’s phone. The messages, from a contact identified as “Jarvis,” contained alarming threats such as, “I’ll come f*** you up,” “I’ll kill you b**** tonight,” and a warning to the victim and another individual, stating, “I’ll kill you both y’all dummies… I got sum for him… he dnt wanna die.”

After being read his Miranda rights, Wright allegedly confessed that his intent in sending the threatening messages was to express his anger and provoke the victim.

Wright now faces charges for making written threats to commit murder and the illegal use of a two-way communication device. Although he has no prior criminal convictions, Judge Susan Miller-Jones has set his bail at $100,000, mandating a GPS monitor should he be released.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
