GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An 18-year-old woman, Patricia Araque Hernandez, has been taken into custody by immigration authorities following her arrest on March 10 for causing a disturbance.

According to the arrest report, Hernandez, a Venezuelan citizen, was apprehended by Gainesville Police Department officers after they received a complaint about a group of women creating a disturbance at Lexington Crossing Apartments around 11:30 p.m.

Officers on the scene observed Hernandez running around the apartment complex’s pool area, shouting profanities at both law enforcement and the other women present. Despite requests from the police to leave the pool area and return to her apartment, Hernandez allegedly threatened to spit on the officers if they attempted to escort her away. The other women reportedly urged her to leave, but she allegedly bypassed them to continue her disruptive behavior near the pool.

The police report also notes that Hernandez attempted to strike several of the women who were trying to guide her away from the area.

Hernandez was eventually taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.

Hernandez has a juvenile conviction from 2025 but no adult criminal history; she told Court Services that she was a Santa Fe College student who has lived in Alachua County for eight years. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $2,500 but noted that she had an ICE hold, and she was turned over to ICE on March 15.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
