GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Miko Jay Bryles, aged 30, has been handed a decade-long prison sentence by the state, which will be followed by an additional 10 years of probation as a registered sexual offender. This sentencing comes after Bryles submitted a no-contest plea to eight charges related to child pornography.
On March 26, 2025, Bryles was apprehended and faced 52 felony charges concerning the possession and distribution of child pornography. This followed an investigation by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, triggered by three CyberTip alerts about the online sharing of child sexual abuse content. The arrest report detailed that subpoenaed files included multiple instances of sexual battery against children, a video featuring a child, and depictions of sadomasochistic abuse involving a minor.
Ultimately, the formal charges comprised 11 counts: eight for possessing 10 or more child pornography images and three for promoting a child’s sexual performance. As part of a plea agreement, three counts of possessing 10 or more images of child pornography were dismissed.
The plea agreement outlined that the charges could have resulted in a maximum of 120 years in state prison.
Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard sentenced Bryles to 10 years in state prison, with credit for 398 days served, followed by 10 years of sexual offender probation; after release, he will be designated as a sexual offender.
