GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 44-year-old man named Sky Ahren Moyer was apprehended on charges of eight felony counts linked to sexual misconduct involving a juvenile. The arrest took place yesterday, shedding light on troubling allegations that have come to the forefront.

The accusations against Moyer were recently brought to the attention of the Department of Children and Families and subsequently investigated by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. These alleged incidents date back several years, occurring when the victim was just 13. The victim reported that Moyer had sent her sexually explicit texts and images, offered to buy her sex toys, and exposed her to pornographic material. As his actions intensified, the victim claimed that Moyer raped her. Additionally, he is accused of taking photos of the victim and using editing software to alter them, creating a fear in the victim that he might distribute those images.

After being read his rights, Moyer reportedly denied having any sexual contact with the victim. However, he expressed uncertainty about whether any nude photos of the victim might be found on his devices. He did admit to purchasing at least one sex toy and giving it to the victim.

Authorities from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Moyer’s home, where they reportedly discovered several items matching the victim’s descriptions.

Moyer has been charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16, lewd and lascivious conduct, lewd and lascivious exhibition with a victim under the age of 16, showing obscene material to a minor, and using a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony.

Moyer has no local criminal history. Judge Kristine Van Vorst ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
