Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Bre’shaun Jacedrick Harrison, 18, has been charged as an adult with stealing a handgun from a vehicle when he was 16.

Harrison was originally arrested on March 10, when he was 17, for armed robbery; he was later charged as an adult in that case and was moved to the adult jail on March 31; he turned 18 on April 3. On April 17, Judge Denise Ferrero ordered him held without bail until trial.

On April 28, Alachua County Sheriff’s Detectives interviewed Harrison at the jail about five vehicle burglaries at Cricket Club (501 SW 75th St.) overnight on March 14-15, 2024, and told him his palm print was found on one of the burglarized vehicles. Harrison reportedly admitted to taking a handgun from one of the vehicles, but he said he didn’t remember which vehicle it came from. He reportedly said that he immediately sold the handgun to an unknown male in Cedar Ridge for $120.

Harrison has been charged with burglary of a vehicle and grand theft of a firearm. He has juvenile convictions between 2019 and 2025, including burglary of an occupied dwelling, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and resisting an officer without violence. Judge Meshon Rawls set bail on the new charges at $50,000, but Harrison will be held without bail until the armed robbery case is resolved.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
