In a disturbing incident in Gainesville, Florida, Christina Teresa Madison, aged 45, found herself in police custody after allegedly making violent threats against a juvenile, wielding a large axe in the process.
The confrontation unfolded on the afternoon of March 30th. At approximately 3:45 p.m., an officer from the Gainesville Police Department was dispatched to a residence in Northwood Pines. There, the young victim recounted a harrowing sequence of events, explaining that Madison had threatened her life with the formidable weapon.
According to reports, Madison forcibly entered the juvenile’s locked bedroom, breaking the door handle with the axe. Once inside, she reportedly declared her deadly intentions. The situation escalated as Madison, still holding the axe, allegedly hurled a small table at the victim. The confrontation intensified when Madison pushed the juvenile against the bed, grabbing her by the throat.
In a desperate bid for safety, the victim managed to disarm Madison, seizing the axe from her. However, Madison allegedly persisted in her assault, striking the victim until the police officer’s timely arrival.
Upon reaching the scene, the officer observed Madison emerging from the hallway leading to the victim’s bedroom. Inside the room, a “very large woodcutting axe” was found on the bed, and visible damage to the bedroom door and handle corroborated the victim’s account of the intrusion.
Post Miranda, Madison reportedly admitted to grabbing the woodcutting axe and forcing her way into the bedroom. She said she never threatened to kill the victim with the axe, but she admitted to throwing objects at the victim, hitting her, and grabbing her throat. She said she did it because she was tired of the victim disrespecting her authority.
Madison has been charged with domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse without causing great bodily harm. She has no local criminal convictions, and Judge Adam Lee set bail at $20,000.
