GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have arrested 27-year-old Queen Sharon Lily Reeves on charges of fraudulently acquiring SNAP and Medicaid benefits, officials announced yesterday.

Court documents reveal that an investigator from the Florida Department of Financial Services claims Reeves submitted applications for public assistance on several occasions between December 28, 2022, and August 7, 2024. In these applications, she allegedly stated her income as $1,000 every two weeks.

The investigation further uncovered that Reeves was employed by the Florida Department of Children and Families from January 6, 2023, through at least November 30, 2024. During this period, she reportedly earned a total of $103,206.61. It is alleged that Reeves did not disclose this income on at least two of her public assistance applications and also omitted her overtime earnings on one of them.

Throughout this timeframe, Reeves is said to have improperly received $11,964 in SNAP benefits and $3,022.83 in Medicaid benefits, amounting to a total of $14,986.83 in fraudulent claims.

Reeves has been charged with making a false statement on an application for public assistance benefits and wrongfully receiving over $200 in benefits, a felony. She has no criminal convictions; a sworn complaint for domestic battery was filed in February 2024, but she was never arrested, and the charge was dropped. Judge James Colaw set bail at $1,000 on the warrant for her arrest.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
