The mysterious disappearance of Daniel Robinson, a young geologist from Arizona, remains unsolved as the search for him continues four years after he vanished without a trace.

Robinson was last seen on June 23, 2021, departing his worksite at a well in Buckeye. Three weeks following his disappearance, his Jeep was discovered crashed in a ravine, just under three miles from where he was last seen. Despite his vehicle being found with personal belongings inside, Robinson himself remains missing.

The Buckeye police have been actively investigating the case. Analysis of cellphone data indicated that Robinson was at the crash site on the morning he went missing. However, further examination of his personal devices and work computer by the Tempe police failed to uncover any clues regarding his fate.

Robinson’s father, who reported his son missing, shared with the authorities that his son had recently expressed feelings of being in love with a woman he had met. Both his father and a co-worker, who was the last known person to see Robinson, mentioned noticing unusual behavior from him in the days leading up to his disappearance.

As the years pass, the lack of progress in solving Robinson’s case leaves his family and the community searching for answers and hoping for a breakthrough in this puzzling mystery.

The woman reportedly denied being in a relationship with Robinson and said she only knew him for less than two weeks. She claimed she ordered Instacart and Robinson was the delivery person. She stated that she and a friend were drunk and invited him inside.

The woman said Robinson texted her that he had left something at her home. She said that he began acting “creepy,” showing up to her home unannounced before retrieving the item without her permission. The woman also claimed she texted him, asking him to stop coming unannounced, and he texted “I love you.”

Robinson texted the woman saying he accidentally left something of his there. That’s when the woman says Robinson started acting “creepy” by showing up unannounced and getting his item without her permission.

The woman allegedly texted Robinson about coming to her home unannounced. Robinson responded, “I love you,” and asked if she was at home.

The last text Robinson allegedly sent to the woman read, “The world can get better, but I’ll have to take all the time I can, or we can, whatever to name it. I’ll either see you again or never see you again.”

It’s not clear how long before his disappearance he met the woman, who has not been publicly identified.

Buckeye police said there was no evidence indicating there was a passenger in Robinson’s Jeep. Additionally, they also stated that foul play was not suspected in this case.

Robinson, who was 24 when he vanished, was described as standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, and having brown hair and brown eyes. He also is missing part of his right arm, below the elbow.

Anyone with information regarding Robinson’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call Buckeye police at 623-349-6411.

Daniel Robinson’s case is being covered as part of Crime Online’s “Finding the Lost: Black and Missing” series, which will feature a missing Black person every day in February. The full series can be read here.
