GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Christopher O. Clemons, 34, of Quitman, GA, was arrested last night and charged with burglary and battery after allegedly breaking into a storage room at the Rodeway Inn on Williston Road; he also allegedly pushed and threatened to kill an employee. Clemons was arrested on February 3 for allegedly pointing a gun in a road rage incident on Archer Road and was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
At about 12:43 p.m. on Sunday, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the Rodeway Inn at 3459 SW Williston Road, where an employee told him Clemons had broken a lock on a storage room and had entered the storage room; Clemons reportedly left the storage room when he was discovered by an employee of the hotel.
Clemons allegedly ran toward another employee, saying that he was going to kill her and that he had a gun in his jumpsuit; he allegedly reached into the jumpsuit as if he were grabbing a gun. The victim, who is 72 years old, told the deputy she was in fear for her life. Clemons allegedly ran toward her again and pushed her.
Clemons was reportedly apprehended in the pool area of the hotel. Deputies took him to an emergency room to be medically evaluated, and he allegedly became combative and resisted being handcuffed.
Post Miranda, he reportedly declined to answer questions.
