A Georgia grand jury has indicted a Coweta County mom for killing her infant son when she fell asleep while warming him with an electric hair dryer in November 2023.

Morgan Alyson Creel, 32, has been charged with second-degree murder and cruelty to children, WAGA reported.

Deputies were called to Creel’s home on November 9, 2023, and found the infant boy with severe burns on his right side as they attempted CPR. Creel told them she’d been using a hair dryer to warm the boy but fell asleep with it on.

Grand jurors heard that story but were also told that Creel was under the influence of drugs at the time and had passed out.

Creel was charged by the sheriff’s office with child cruelty in 2023, according to the Newnan Times-Herald. The little boy was 6 weeks old.

Creel was not on the county jail’s inmate list Thursday night.
