Authorities in Georgia have provided further details following the tragic discovery of a 4-year-old child’s body in her mother’s vehicle last month.
Earlier reports from CrimeOnline revealed that Jessica Motes, a resident of Flowery Branch, was initially charged with felony concealment of a death in relation to the child’s demise.
However, recent developments, as highlighted by an arrest warrant from Hall County obtained by Channel 2’s Action News, have escalated her charges to first-degree murder.
The young victim has been identified as Autumn Fox, the daughter of Motes.
In a statement, Motes’ father recounted an encounter on October 26 at an Oakwood Sam’s Club. During this meeting in the parking lot, Motes reportedly confessed to her father that she had harmed her, saying, “I think she is dead,” according to a report from 11 Alive News.
The father then reportedly spoke to police, who subsequently found the child’s remains in Motes’ trunk.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating, along with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
Motes remains behind bars in the Hall County Jail without bond.
