Press release from Gainesville Police Department

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at approximately 3:17 a.m., Gainesville Police Department officers responded to the area of 400 SW 10th Street regarding a Sexual Battery. The investigation revealed that an unknown suspect unlawfully entered the victim’s home and then entered the victim’s room where the victim was sleeping. The victim was awakened by a noise; the unknown suspect sexually battered the victim and then fled as the victim called for help.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, with light blonde/brown hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a light blue polo shirt, shorts, and some type of covering over his face.
