Staff report from Gainesville Police Department post

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run that occurred on January 19, 2025, in the 3200 block of NW 13th St.

At approximately 6:25 p.m., a motorcycle was struck by a gray Silverado. The collision occurred as the motorcycle was traveling south on NW 13th St. The driver of the Silverado fled the scene and failed to render aid or provide information after the incident.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

We urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information regarding the driver of the Silverado to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be vital in our investigation.
