Authorities in Hawaii are intensifying their search efforts for an elderly woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports that 82-year-old Jacquelyn “Jackie” Glenn, a resident of Kailua-Kona, was last spotted on December 5 at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the 75-200 block of Nani Kailua Drive. Meanwhile, other sources suggest she disappeared later that morning, around 9 a.m., after a card game with friends.

The local police have initiated a homicide investigation into her disappearance, according to Jackie’s brother, Chet Glenn. While he declined to provide detailed information, he confirmed the involvement of a homicide squad in the case.

“They’ve got the homicide squad on this. That’s what I was told,” her brother shared with the press.

Gerry Kahulamu, who describes herself as a friend of Jackie, mentioned that both Jackie’s scooter and car were found at her home in the Pier 1 community. Chet Glenn corroborated this, noting that she also left behind her cell phone.

Gerry Kahulamu, who identified herself as a friend of Jackie Glen’s, reportedly stated that Jackie left her scooter and car at her residence in the Pier 1 community. Her brother confirmed the information, adding that Jackie did not take her cell phone with her.

“She was going to take the bus to Hilo. The bus goes to the Hilo side, and it takes all day,’” Chet  said. “But there’s no parking, no gas, no driving. … I did not speak to her about that.”

Chet said that his sister has taken the bus on previous occasions, but only a few occasions.

Kahulamu added that Jackie is in good condition. Others reportedly stated on social media that Jackie has no cognitive issues and does not have dementia.

“I’m 77, and she’s 82, and she’s in better condition than I am,” Kahulamu said. “She’s always got a smile on her face, just a positive person. She’s the sweetest, most loving lady.”

Island News reports that Jackie made mention of visiting Hilo with friends, but didn’t say when she would return.

Due to her age, she is considered endangered.

Jackie Glen is described as standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing around 125 pounds. She has brown eyes and curly gray hair, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a peach-colored shirt and black shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Hawaii Police Department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311. Anonymous tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
