HAWTHORNE, Fla. – Late Monday afternoon on August 24, a flurry of activity unfolded as several deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office rushed to an alarming scene on the 6000 block of SE 225th Street. Reports had come in of a shooting incident that left the community on edge.
Upon their swift arrival, the deputies discovered an adult male who had been struck by a single gunshot. Acting quickly, they delivered crucial medical assistance until paramedics could take over. When the personnel from Alachua County Fire Rescue arrived, they promptly transported the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
