Authorities in San Antonio have announced the discovery of a body on Tuesday during the ongoing efforts to locate 19-year-old Camila Olmos.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that the body was found around 4:45 p.m. at the Burning Bush Landscaping Company, situated close to Bent Cyn and FM 1560.
Officials noted that the body was located in tall grass near Olmos’ home, and the clothing matched the description of what Olmos was last seen wearing, according to a report by News4Sa.
“It’s too premature to confirm whether the body belongs to Camila,” stated Sheriff Javier Salazar of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office during a press briefing on Tuesday. “However, we currently do not suspect foul play.”
As previously highlighted by CrimeOnline, Olmos was last observed leaving her home on the 11000 block of Caspian Spring shortly before 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
Security footage captured someone believed to be Olmos searching her vehicle for an unknown item shortly before leaving on foot.
Salazar said a firearm was located near the body. Investigators had been searching for a missing firearm that belonged to one of Olmos’ family members.
A medical examiner will officially determine the identity.
