Heartbreaking Oversight: Mom Forgets 1-Year-Old in Sweltering Car While Retrieving Uber Eats Order

Camera footage showcases the St. Petersburg, Florida neighborhood where authorities allege Ly Thien Pham left her infant unattended in a vehicle (WFLA).

After being accused of abandoning her 1-year-old in a sweltering car for around 30 minutes while collecting an Uber Eats delivery, a mother from Florida has been released on bond.

Forty-year-old Ly Thien Pham faces child abuse charges after she reportedly left her toddler alone in her car while completing her duties as an Uber Eats driver. As detailed in an arrest affidavit accessed by WFLA, an NBC affiliate, Pham allegedly took her son to a restaurant in St. Petersburg, Florida, to retrieve an order at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to police, she parked her vehicle, leaving her child in the backseat, and reportedly turned off the engine, which shut down the air conditioning, while activating the hazard lights, as covered by WTSP, a CBS affiliate.

Pham purportedly forgot her parking location upon exiting the establishment, she stated.

Court documentation reveals that Pham was released from jail on Monday after posting a $10,000 bond. She has been instructed not to communicate with the child’s aunt concerning her son. Her forthcoming court date remains undisclosed.
