In a tragic incident from Florida, a 40-year-old woman named Justine Mroz was taken into custody on Sunday after being accused of ending the life of her young son. The community of Land O’ Lakes was stunned as details emerged about this heartbreaking case.
Mroz reportedly called emergency services from her residence, confessing to the dispatcher that her 6-year-old son had died. In a moment of distress, she admitted to having “snapped” and strangled the child, explaining that he had become aggressive, according to reports from WTSP.
Following the devastating event, Mroz is said to have sent apologetic messages to her family members, expressing her remorse for her actions.
Further insights from WFLA reveal that the young boy, who was autistic and non-verbal, had been exhibiting distressing behavior, such as banging his head on the floor while watching television. In an attempt to calm him, Mroz tried to hold him back, but he reacted by hitting and biting her.

Mroz allegedly told police how she got on top of her son and choked him with both hands until he became lifeless. She then got razor blades, cut her wrists, and called 911, WFLA reported.
According to police, Mroz revealed that she bought the razor blades two days earlier and had attempted suicide on Saturday after picking up her son from his father’s house.
Though initial reports identified Mroz as a teacher in Pasco County, school officials explained she was an itinerant. She was not an instructor in a particular classroom, officials said.
“She has been arrested by (the) Pasco Sheriff’s Office and will not be on any school campus,” school officials said in a statement issued to WFTV.
Mroz was charged with second-degree murder. She was ordered to remain in jail without bond during a court hearing on Monday.
