GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Curtis Ray Minor, 34, was arrested yesterday after allegedly stealing a Nintendo Switch that a Wawa employee had briefly set down on a counter while getting a soda.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the Wawa at Celebration Pointe at 7:30 a.m. yesterday, where the victim said he was just getting off his shift at about 6:57 a.m. when he put his Wawa apron and his Nintendo Switch, which was in a case with numerous games, on a counter while he went to get a soda.
The deputy viewed store surveillance footage that reportedly showed a man taking the Switch case at about 6:59 a.m. and then leaving the store and riding away on a bicycle.
Deputies searched the area and eventually found a homeless camp in the woods near a construction site at 4100 SW Archer Road, where they reportedly saw Minor wearing the same clothes as the man in the video and carrying a Switch case.
