ALACHUA, Fla. – Claudia L. Ramirez, 32, was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and property damage after allegedly pulling a knife during a test drive in an attempt to steal a car.
At about 1:15 p.m. yesterday, Ramirez was on a test drive in a vehicle from a business in Alachua, accompanied by an employee of the business. She allegedly drove through a stop sign without stopping and then pulled a knife on the employee, demanding that he get out of the vehicle.

The victim was able to get the knife away from her and received a small cut in the process. Ramirez allegedly started hitting the windshield and side window with a hard object, damaging the vehicle.
Ramirez has no local criminal history; law enforcement listed her as homeless and was unable to verify her identity, residence, or employment except to note that she was born in Mexico. Court documents have a notation for an ICE hold. Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $7,000.
