GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gil Gio Nasser De Los Reyes, 26, was arrested last night and charged with aggravated stalking after repeatedly messaging a woman he knew from middle school; the victim said she had never even been friends with him.

At about 8:05 p.m. on March 27, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a home in Haile Plantation, where the homeowner had called to report a man standing on the front sidewalk of the house. The deputy reported that he spoke with De Los Reyes, who said he did not live there but was visiting a friend from school.

The homeowner told the deputy that De Los Reyes had been stalking his adult daughter. The victim said she had gone to middle school with De Los Reyes, but they never dated, were not friends, and never hung out. However, the victim said, De Los Reyes had started contacting her “out of nowhere” in January 2025.

Since January, De Los Reyes has allegedly contacted the victim daily, sometimes more than 20 times a day; he has sent text messages, videos, photos, and even sent money to her Apple account. The phone number used to send the money was reportedly the same one De Los Reyes gave to the deputy as his phone number.

Some of the messages included phrases like “you’re dead,” “love you,” and “I love my dark-haired baby girl, whom I trust the most.” De Los Reyes allegedly created a fake Instagram account with a name that combined the victim’s name with his name. He also allegedly contacted members of the victim’s family, including calling the victim’s mother on Facetime; he has added her friends on his social media accounts and liked images of the victim posted by her friends on their accounts.

On March 21, the victim reportedly told De Los Reyes to stop contacting her or she would call law enforcement; she told the deputy she feels unsafe, in danger, and constantly stressed out by the repeated harassment.

De Los Reyes has been charged with aggravated stalking, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and violating probation. He has one felony conviction for battery following a 2021 arrest for attacking a nurse while he was being treated in a mental health unit; he was found incompetent to stand trial in 2022 and committed to a state mental hospital until November 2024, when he entered a plea of nolo contendere to the battery charge and was sentenced to two years of probation. Judge David Kreider ordered him held without bail and added requirements for a GPS monitor if he is released and no access to the internet.
