A popular content creator from Pennsylvania allegedly attempted to end her own life by setting her house on fire — and now she is charged with arson.

Drew Mehalick-Headley, whose age was not available, was involved with a house fire in the early morning hours of Aug. 27. According to court records obtained by local CBS affiliate WHP, the Middletown Borough Police Department started receiving tips that Mehalick-Headley had posted concerning messages on her social media accounts later the same night.

In a lengthy Facebook post published at 8:00 p.m., Mehalick-Headley — who goes by “Drew Disaster” online — wrote, “I”m sorry if it feels all for naught with how this has ended. It meant so much to me but I have come to accept the reality that my hurt is too much to carry.” She added, “[N]o matter how much I try to avoid it, it seems I will always be a destructive force.”

WHP reported that on a now-deleted Instagram post, Mehalick-Headley wrote, “I’m sorry. The pain has just become too heavy to bear. This is all I wanted. I’m glad that I got it. With love, Drew.”

An Instagram reel, also seemingly deleted or removed, depicted Mehalick-Headley petting her two cats and apologizing to them saying, “Please cremate me or bury me in the shroud. I love you all, I truly do.”

Court documents stated that Mehalick-Headley apparently admitted to setting the fire, which was estimated to have started at 4:39 a.m. One of her cats was also saved; however, one of them did not survive the blaze.

According to WHP, Mehalick-Headley is now charged with arson posing a danger of death or injury, arson posing a danger to inhabited buildings, risking catastrophe, and aggravated cruelty to animals. Her current condition is unknown.
