GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Landon Kirell Coleman, a 22-year-old inmate at the Alachua County Jail, faces 40 charges for allegedly breaching his pre-trial release conditions. Authorities claim Coleman made 139 phone calls to his domestic battery victim using the facility’s complimentary phones.
Coleman’s legal troubles began on November 27, 2025, when he was accused of forcibly entering his ex-girlfriend’s home without permission, assaulting her by pushing her down, seizing her phone, and subsequently throwing her onto an asphalt road outside.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy, a judge on November 28, 2025, explicitly ordered Coleman to refrain from contacting the victim. Despite this, between December 22 and February 16, Coleman reportedly used the personal identification numbers (PINs) of two fellow inmates to call the victim directly 139 times. During these calls, the victim expressed distress at Coleman’s persistent inquiries and repeatedly urged him to cease contact before disconnecting.
In response to these actions, Coleman now faces 40 counts of violating his pre-trial release conditions. Judge Jonathan Ramsey has set his bail at $400,000—amounting to $10,000 per count. Coleman remains in custody without bail for the initial November charges. Additionally, Judge Ramsey has restricted Coleman’s communication privileges, allowing only attorney-client calls.
