Brian Walshe's Grisly Alleged Web Searches Revealed at Murder Trial: "How to Saw a Body"

In the trial of Brian Walshe, a prosecution witness has revealed that his digital activities allegedly included shocking searches related to dismemberment and body identification. This revelation has added a chilling layer to the proceedings.

The Cohasset, Mass., man, who is charged with murdering his missing wife Ana Walshe, allegedly had many alarming Google and Yahoo searches on his laptop in the three days following her 2023 disappearance, Massachusetts State Police Trooper Nicholas Guarino testified in Norfolk Superior Court on Dec. 2.

State Trooper Guarino testified that on January 1, 2023, days before Brian’s wife Ana was reported missing, his computer was used to search for “Best ways to dispose of a body.” This disturbing query was just the beginning of a series of incriminating searches.

According to Guarino, subsequent searches on Brian’s device included phrases such as “How long before body starts to smell,” “can identification be made on partial human remains,” and “how to saw a body.” These searches paint a grim picture of the days leading up to Ana’s disappearance.

Between January 1 and January 3, additional searches were conducted that focused on cleaning up potential crime scenes, with queries like “can I use bleach to clean my wood floors from blood stains.” Other searches reflected concerns about law enforcement, such as “can police get your search history without your computer” and “can the FBI tell when you accessed your phone,” according to the testimony.

The officer also highlighted that on January 1, Brian’s device accessed a webpage titled “6 ways to dispose of a body,” hosted on a website ominously named “murdermurdermurder.com.”

In a recording from a Jan. 8 questioning by investigators played in court, Brian said he had “no idea” how the search history got there, calling it “really weird.”

In his opening statement, Brian’s attorney argued the husband had found Ana dead in bed of a “sudden, unexplained death” in the early morning of New Year’s Day.

Under cross-examination from Brian’s attorney, Guarino confirmed that during the window of authorities’ search warrant, there were no search queries related to how to dispose of a body from before New Year’s Day, when Ana was last seen.

Brian’s arrest came on Jan. 8, after a knife and blood was found in the basement of his home, prosecutors said at the time.

At his arraignment later that month, Brian pleaded not guilty to murder, as well as misleading a police investigation and improper conveyance of a human body. He was later indicted on all charges, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office shared at the time.

In the month before his trial, Brian—while maintaining his innocence on first-degree murder—changed his plea to guilty for the lesser charges of “willfully conveying” Ana’s body and misleading police, NBC News reported, citing court documents.

The documents stated that Brian “disposed of” Ana’s body “after her death,” per the outlet.

His trial is expected to continue this week with more from the prosecution before his defense team presents their evidence.
