Iowa Resident Faces Charges for Allegedly Contaminating Lasagna with Oxycodone in Attempt to Induce Miscarriage

An Iowa resident is facing serious legal charges after allegedly delivering lasagna laced with oxycodone to a pregnant woman’s family, with the goal of inducing a miscarriage.

Amber Dena Snow, 36, was taken into custody on Tuesday by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office. She faces several serious charges: a violation related to controlled substances, two counts of administering harmful substances to both an adult and a juvenile, attempted nonconsensual pregnancy termination—each classified as felonies—and an additional count of child endangerment, which is an aggravated misdemeanor, as reported by the Des Moines Register.

The issue came to light in January when authorities were alerted about the drug-laced lasagna, which had been delivered on December 28, 2025. Subsequent testing confirmed the presence of oxycodone in the dish.

Although both Snow and an alleged accomplice were initially under investigation, charges have so far been filed solely against Snow. As reported by WXOW, additional charges and arrests could be forthcoming.

The Des Moines Register also noted that Snow shares custody of a child with a relative of the pregnant victim. This child was reportedly aware of the scheme and disapproved of Snow’s intentions.

Investigators said that electronic communications and search histories connected Snow and the other person to the crime.

Snow is due in court on March 23.
