The final episode of Season 14 of Dateline: Secrets Uncovered, titled “The Road Trip,” brought viewers on a miles-long journey from Florida to Missouri to solve the mysterious murder of Dr. Teresa Sievers. The holistic doctor, who was making a name for herself in the Sunshine State, was found brutally murdered in her home after returning from a family trip. There were few clues left at the scene, but an unexpected tip took detectives to Missouri, where they discovered a pair of unlikely suspects with a chilling link to the case.
Also in Season 14, Dateline correspondent Andrea Canning reported on the shocking fatal shooting of aspiring Michigan singer Egypt Covington in “A Girl Named Egypt.” Covington was discovered dead by her boyfriend in the living room of her apartment with her hands tied behind her back with Christmas lights. She’d been shot in the back of the head. The investigation into her murder would take years to solve and tear Covington’s family apart until the horrifying pieces to the puzzle were finally put together.
