Several Jan. 6 defendants who got hit with additional charges that weren’t directly related to the U.S. Capitol attack — like owning illegal weapons or fleeing justice — still appear to be facing the music for those separate crimes, according to court documents.

Jonathan Daniel Pollock, an alleged rioter who absconded and failed to appear in court early last year for his trial, was granted a full dismissal of his charges related to the 2021 insurrection but not the charges for fleeing, according to the Department of Justice.

A motion to dismiss filed by DOJ prosecutors on Tuesday, which was viewed by Law&Crime, shows that all counts related to Pollock’s June 2021 indictment for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, were tossed out, per the executive order issued by President Donald Trump on Monday. Pollock, however, still faces charges for absconding and failure to appear in federal court, which the DOJ has not moved to dismiss.
