A registered nursing assistant in Georgia was recently arrested for a series of inappropriate sexual relationships with her patients, authorities say.
Jessica Camp, 39, stands accused of improper conduct by an employee in the first and second degree, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office and LaFayette Police Department.
In at least two incidents, the defendant allegedly took advantage of disabled patients at a rehabilitation facility in the far northwestern part of the Peach State.
In November, detectives were sent to the PruittHealth nursing home on Roadrunner Boulevard in LaFayette, Georgia, in response to complaints that an employee had been performing oral sex on residents there, according to an arrest report obtained by Chattanooga, Tennessee, ABC affiliate WTVC. LaFayette is a small town roughly 29 miles south of Chattanooga.
Another employee at the home shared a secondhand allegation that the defendant led a quadriplegic man into believing he and Camp were in a relationship of some kind, according to the arrest report.
When questioned, the quadriplegic man allegedly said that he and the defendant had been talking since August. During those conversations, she allegedly told the man he needed to give her $1,300 so she could pay her rent. Over time, he tried — allegedly parting with some $788 over roughly three-plus months.
“[H]e realizes now, that Ms. Camp was willfully being deceitful,” the arrest report reads.

The man went on to tell law enforcement that he knew this was not the first time Camp allegedly “tricked someone into giving her money,” WTVC reports. The man went on to say the defendant had done something similarly deceptive with his roommate.
The roommate — a double-leg amputee on dialysis — offered a story similar in several aspects. He said Camp had asked for $750 from him for a car payment because “they were fixing to take her car.”
The second man told police he gave the defendant the funds she requested. But, after that, she allegedly acted like nothing ever happened. He said he saw the nursing assistant still getting rides instead of driving herself and asked her where her car was. The man told deputies Camp said “she didn’t know what he was talking about.”
Neither of the two men, however, wanted to press theft charges against the now-former health care employee.
The quadriplegic man’s reasons for declining to press charges were not reported. But the second man was a bit more forthcoming.
First, the amputee said he knew he wouldn’t get his money back anyway, according to the arrest report. On top of that, according to the court document obtained by WTVC, “[H]e figured he got his money’s worth as many times as she [performed a sexual act].”
The nursing home quickly fired Camp after her arrest.
“PruittHealth is deeply concerned and saddened by the allegations involving a former employee at our LaFayette location,” a statement sent to several media outlets in the area reads. “The care and safety of our patients is our highest priority. Upon learning of the situation, we self-reported the concerns to police and state officials. The employee was immediately suspended and subsequently terminated. Because we are also committed to our patient’s right to privacy, we cannot comment on the factual allegations concerning any patient. We will continue in our efforts to provide the best possible care to our patients.”
Camp was arrested last week and booked into the Walker County Jail.
