Judiciary Reacts Sharply to Disturbing Charlie Kirk Assassination Footage in Tyler Robinson Trial

A judge displayed a momentary reaction while viewing the recording of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Almost one year on from the murder of the well-known right-wing activist, a preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old accused of the crime, commenced on July 6.

In a Provo, Utah, courtroom, Robinson faced Judge Tony Graf, who will decide if the prosecution has enough evidence to proceed with a murder trial.

Judge Graf examined several undisclosed videos from the September 10 shooting at Utah Valley University, reports the Associated Press.

While reviewing a particular video that seemingly captured the fatal moment Kirk was shot in the neck, Judge Graf visibly twitched, deviating from his otherwise steady composure throughout the footage examination, as highlighted in AP’s livestream.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray revealed charges against Robinson back in September at a press conference, where the prosecutor read alleged text messages retrieved from Robinson’s partner’s phone in which he allegedly confessed to the killing.

Robinson was charged with aggravated murder in connection with Kirk’s death, per TIME, and now if the 23-year-old is convicted, prosecutors will seek the death penalty. He has not entered a plea, AP reported.

Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk and President Donald Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. were both in attendance at the July 6 hearing, along with Kirk’s parents.

“Every court proceeding serves as a painful reminder of his death and the loss that has irrevocably impacted our lives and the lives of his children,” his wife shared July 6 on X, noting the statement was on behalf of Charlie Kirk’s immediate family. “We remain deeply grateful for the support, prayers, and kindness we have received. This outpouring has sustained us during the darkest days of our lives.”
