A man previously held and interrogated regarding the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been released by the authorities.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office reported that the individual was taken into custody on February 10, coinciding with the release of new images depicting an armed person tampering with a doorbell camera on the morning Nancy vanished.

“Earlier today, deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle south of Tucson, detaining the driver,” the sheriff’s office stated in an update provided to Oxygen. “The individual is being questioned as part of the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.”

Simultaneously, the sheriff’s office, alongside the FBI’s Evidence Response Team, executed a “court-authorized search” at a site in Rio Rico, Arizona, as they continued their inquiry.

“Investigators have wrapped up their search of a property in Rio Rico,” the sheriff’s office noted in a subsequent update to Oxygen. “The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s case continues. No further information is available at this time.”

The person detained was later released from questioning, MS Now reported.

Delivery Driver Insists He “Never Kidnapped Anybody” in Nancy Guthrie Probe

Although authorities did not name the subject, delivery driver Carlos Palazuelos told reporters outside his Rio Rico home, according to The New York Post, that he had been the person called in for questioning.

Palazuelos insisted he’s never met Nancy, but he told ABC15 that he “might have delivered a package to her house,” adding, “I never kidnapped anybody.”

Palazuelos—who was not charged—expressed frustration and said investigators also searched his home.

“I hope they get the suspect, because I’m not it,” he continued. “And they better do their job and find the suspect that did it so they can clear my name, I’m done.”

Surveillance Images Showed Armed Individual At Nancy Guthrie’s Home

Earlier in the day, authorities released a series of images and videos captured from Nancy’s Tucson home, which showed a masked individual disabling a doorbell camera.

“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement provided to Oxygen, “showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”

The images showed an unknown subject wearing a ski mask, gloves, jacket and pants approaching the doorway, while carrying a backpack.

FBI Director Kash Patel also posted videos of the subject fiddling with the camera.

What Happened to Nancy Guthrie?

Nancy was reported missing Feb. 1 after she failed to show up to a church service viewing with friends.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a press conference Feb. 5 that Nancy was last seen the evening of Jan. 31 after she was dropped off at home by a family member around 9:48 p.m.

The next morning at 1:47 a.m. the doorbell camera at the house was disconnected and software detected a person or motion on a camera at 2:12 a.m., according to Nanos.

Her pacemaker app also disconnected from her phone at 2:28 a.m. Investigators believe she was likely taken from the home against her will after discovering her blood outside on the porch.
