Police in Pennsylvania are looking for a man accused of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and threatening to slash her friend’s child’s throat.

Shawn Prince, 29, faces charges of kidnapping, simple assault, terroristic, threats, and harassment, the Westmoreland District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Scottdale Police responded to a request for a welfare check on the victim on Wednesday. Family said they had not heard from her since a previously domestic incident on Monday. They responded and found the the door open, the victim’s phone inside, but no one there. While at the home, officers were told that the victim had called 911 and was now at the police station.

She told police that Prince had kidnapped her on Monday after police had responded to the domestic incident on that day, telling them that he threatened to cut the child’s throat if she didn’t go with him. Then, she said, he drover her to a wooded area and held her at gunpoint overnight, a criminal complaint says.

They stayed in the woods overnight, then Prince started driving again the next morning.

“The victim told officers Prince started nodding off and made the victim drive the vehicle,” the district attorney’s office said. “The victim said she started recognizing her surroundings near Ohiopyle and drove to the Scottdale Police station because she knew where it was located.”

At that point, she got out of the vehicle and ran to the station, calling 911 “as Prince drove away and allegedly yelled taht he would burn the victim’s house down.”
