A lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z claiming they raped her when she was 13 has been voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.

Attorney’s Tony Buzbee and Antigone Curis filed the dismisal on behalf of the plaintiff, Variety reports.

The lawsuit, initially filed in October against Combs but refiled with Jay-Z added in December, accuses the rappers of raping the plaintiff at a Video Music Awards after party in 2000, as CrimeOnline reported. Combs is being held without bail while awaiting trial on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges, and he has been accused of sexual assault in dozens of lawsuits, many of them filed by Buzbee.

This lawsuit was the first to name another high-profile celebrity. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, quickly denied the claims in the lawsuit, calling Buzbee a “fraud” and saying the lawsuit was a “blackmail attempt.”

Carter’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, issued a statement after the lawsuit’s dismissal calling it a “victory,” Variety said.

“The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed,” Carter wrote. “This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone. The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed. This 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions.”

Carter is married to superstar Beyonce, and they have three children — Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.

Carter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, also issued.a statement, saying that his client “has done what few can — he pushed back, he never settled, he never paid 1 red penny, he triumphed and cleared his name.”

Combs’ attorneys equated the dismissal of this one particular lawsuit with their contention that all the suits against the rapper are “based on falsehoods, not facts.”
